I have a problem that when I try to watch StarCraft replays, the two participants will perform their openings and then the screen will be spammed continuously with Rally-Hack warnings.

The game will continue, only the two players just sit there letting their resources accumulate until the replay ends - doing absolutely nothing. Clearly the replay finishes abruptly as no player will have the advantage, they just sit.

Mystlord presented to me, a possible source of the problem - my StarCraft version out-dating the version that the games in the replays were played on.

I would appreciate it if anybody can point me in the direction of being able to watch older StarCraft replays without having to reinstall StarCraft - if the version is indeed the problem.

Did you make sure the replays were updated version? Reinstall chaos? Have you tried more recent replays?

Recent replays work fine, replays prior to version 1.15.3 are giving me problems.

have you switched the sc.exe executable file shit?

I've solved the problem. It was the SC version. If anyone else has this problem, download the old SC executables for older versions (1.09 - 1.14) at this link:
