I have to say it looks pretty interesting but what is with the command centers and stuff? Is there going to be computer interference inside the game to make game play even harder. >:D Or they just there as examples of placement for expos? lol

I think they are there as examples. Vac did that on his last map too.

The unbuildable cliffs look bad and have a few holes in them. Also, the map looks tight overall. Try removing the high ground stuff in the middle and also the two expos (along with their cliffs) You could try adding an andromeda expo there.

Nah it's just a 2 player map. Andromeda expo would be too interfering.

I kind of like the middle expos as they are. very vulnerable to harass, but both have double gas. That's basically all the middle expos are good for.

And I dont think the map is too tight. I was actually concerned with it being too open still. Maybe some of the map features give the illusion that it's tight?

And what do you recommend I do to the cliffs? interlink em all?

Ya I have to say those cliffs do look kind of bad, maybe connect them all and then put a bunch of objects or minerals with only 10 or so in them on top. That way it's not possible to build unless you drop off some miners to clear the area. Think that would be pretty cool drop off a scv and a tank and slowly clear the area of minerals and move your tanks in to attack your foe from there.

I could fix the cliffs for you. With your permission of course. I love making unbuildable jungle cliffs. Again, just like Dem0n's map, the map size looks a bit big for the concept.

Iunno I've been looking at the cliffs a bit more, and I think they kind of fit in with the less natural look of the map. I mean, I realize since it's dirt, it should look natural, but I liked the color of the tileset more than anything. The mud patches in the middle used to be scattered checker pattern, so that shows I've been more pattern focused than crossing nature and development.

How does the map look to big for "the concept"?

Map is fundamentally flawed because you tried to make a (2)128x128 map. You just have waaay too much clutter and wasted space.

I don't understand your picture because you have so many buildings, I don't know if they're neutrals or just there to be there. If they aren't there in the map, I don't think your backdoor idea of the nat will work well, but I dunno. Your mains and nats need work, they are badly designed which makes it hard for special features to work well.

Your middle expos don't work. Your expo layout has no flow, but that's to be expected since you tried too big of a map.

You should allocate more space to highground paths and expos, else they're really awkward.

Your mineral formations are awkward, but that's probably caused by things I addressed above.

Agh. yeah if it was one building by itself then it's therer to be a reference. but if it's a group of buildings, it's meant to be a blockade. I guess I shoulda adjusted that before taking a picture.

So what exactly is fundamentally flawed about a 2 player 128x128?

I do see what you mean about the other things though. thanks.x

Too much space, and you'll feel compelled to use it all. Frankly, if you're making a 128x128 (2)map then you'd better have already precisely planned a real kick-ass map. If you're just making a new map to be making a new map, I highly reccomend 128x96 or 96x128.

Any reason the top player has the only expansion on the map without a command center?

Any reason the top player has 2 close expansions that they don't have to destroy a command center, while the bottom player has to go across the bottom to get to theirs?

The CCs are there as a reference to where the expos are.

Yeah aside from my contest map which I did plan out on paper (I can take a picture of it in case you're wondering wink.gif) this one was pretty much spur of the moment/evolving off of the main bases. Also Nightmar, since you mentioned that, your credentials will be maintained on a pedestal in my eyes. biggrin.gif

Now that I got a bit more free time, I'm gonna try working some kinks out that look like they can be readjusted.
