Hey SC2GG! I really think that you guys (the commentators) should release all the commentaries as podcasts. I would love to be able to view these commentaries on my iPod wherever I am, and not just when I am at home by my computer.
I already follow the SC2GG audio-podcast but you really should upload the videos with the commentaries. It would also allow for higher quality than Youtube. And you would never have to cut it up into 10-minute parts.
Just a thought, but it would be totally awesome!

1. The 10 minute part's make it sort of convenient because it sort of gives checkpoints for something
2. Higher quality=longer time waiting for the vod to upload which isn't always the best option
3. You can convert their commentaries into mp4 format to watch on your ipod. I personally don't have an ipod but I use my PSP and watch commentaries like that

I think this would be a great idea since you can get games on itunes and make it easier for users to get get. Also you don't have to stop using youtube it still could be up and set up a rss feed for podcasts.
I would suggest using
http://www.feedburner.com/fb/a/homeedit- although i think we would have to host the commentaries on the sc2gg site or some other site.

going purely podcast isn't practical as posting on Youtube reaches a much wider potential audience. iTunes does have benefits as you stated, but it would be up to the commentators as to if they'd want to spend the extra time uploading the games to two different mediums.

I agree with p4NDemik.
What I do is download YouTube vids as mp4 files and import them to my iPod. It is really easy. There are a few ways to do it.

Part of hosting anything on our own site is the issue of bandwidth and what can be supported - high quality videos take a LOT of bandwidth and YouTube does that grunt work for us. You probably don't know this, but to host your own videos would cost about 10x the price to keep the site up, which is already a fair amount.
Places like www.scforall.com that have their "own" videos have them on a server there, but they use some other service behind the scenes to run them. If you're a programmer and knows how to do this and won't just start and then randomly vanish, stop, or just not finish, then talk to me!

Yeah, I understand that it would take some work, but I searched the forum and couldn't find any topic like this so I just thought I'd bring it up.
The main advantage I think would be the accessability (is that a word?) that you get from podcasts. But I guess it's up to the commentators if they feel like they have the time to set something like this up.
It WOULD be totally awesome though.
