I just got owned by ero sennin here and he rushed with 1 zealot. I was going 1 gate core and I guess he did not and pumped zealot for rush. He also did some great probe harassment building pylons in my mineral line trapping a probe and screwed with me there.

I read somewhere I should ignore scouting units until my first goon is out, but his zealot got there first. How do I prevent this? Should I make a zealot while waiting for the core? Thanks!

Your PvP build was greedy, you got a goon first.

Non-greedy would be
8 p
10 gate
12 gas
13 zealot
16 pylon
18 core
19 zealot
I think that works out to 22 goon
then you make a pylon on 24

You chase that probe with your first zealot, and you block your ramp with your 2nd lot

If his first lot already gets in, then you focus on that lot first.

Make sure to pull probes from gas if they do a proxy rush (which I did) or if they 2 gate.

Then your zealot count should go 1-3-5 if they 2 gate zeal you, and keep adding 7-9 etc... if need be.

You shouldn't be letting him make manner pylons in you rmineral in the first line. If there's a spot where 2 mineral patches can be blocked and your opponent's scouting probe is wandering around that area, keep a probe of your own in the spot so that he can't make a pylon there. The zealot should be easy to ward off until your goon is out. If the zealot targets a probe, pull it to the other side of the mineral line. If the zealot gets too far in, stack your probes and unstack over the zealot while attacking. Once the goon is out, you should be able to kill the zealot pretty easily. The early zealot means he delayed his core so his tech will likely be later and he will be slightly behind if he didn't kill any probes. If he killed one, you should be around even.
