Full Version: Recommended Games Forum for Commentators?
SC2GG - Your Gateway to StarCraft > General > Guides & Questions

This is more of a suggestion than a question, but since there is no suggestions area, this seems to be the most appropriate place to start this new topic.

I am a huge SC2GG fan and Starcraft fan in general, I watch almost all of the Korean pro SC VODs that come out as well as commentaries from SC2GG veterans such as Diggity, Klazart, Moletrap, Cholera and Rise. But I am disappointed by the fact that they keep commentating on big name players without regard to whether the games would actually be good, such as your Bisu vs. Jaedong or Flash vs. Leta, when there are incredibly exciting games between no-name or semi-known players that have never been commentated on.

Of course I understand their reasoning to pick big name players since they have a good potential to be exciting games and they are players that they can talk about. Also I understand they don't have the time to watch every single VOD. And even if they did the outcome would be spoiled for them, making the commentaries less exciting.

That is why I'm suggesting a Recommended games area for veteran and new commentators alike to browse for exciting games. I'm tired of constantly emailing commentators to suggest which game to commentate and would rather like a general forum that would be easy to access for all SC2GG commentators.

To start off with a list of recommended games, here are some that have never been commentated before and I found very exciting:

(A lot of them happen to involve Hite Sparkyz players since I'm a Hite Sparkyz fan and I can somehow remember almost every single Hite Sparkyz game.)

This seems like a cool idea, and it would be pretty easy to implement...but if you check out their comments page, youll find a list of good games broadcasted by people who watched them already ^^

There are, of course, reasons why certain commentators choose to do certain games. However, I think you have a very good point in wanting to see good games get cast even if they don't necessarily have huge implications or huge names. If a thread like this gets updated by people who watch the Korean vods early, I think commentators will take notice and do some of those games. I definitely like the idea!

Yeah, because I'm kind of sick of almost every commentary involving Bisu, Jaedong, Flash, Leta, etc.

If no new forum gets posted, I'll just update the list every once in awhile.

I have officially taken notice of this wink.gif
I'll probly be casting some of these games now if no new foreigner vods that i want to do r out... Thanks!

I try to bypass this problem as much as possible by always commentating all the sets in a proleague match if I commentate proleague and by commentating the entire MSL from the ro32 stages up. I still do miss out on some awesome games simply because I choose to commentate say T1 vs. Sparkyz instead of WeMade vs eSTRO.

But yeah this idea sounds pretty cool, although I feel for it to be implemented I think some people need to dedicate themselves to getting news out as fast as possible. Some peepz that watch games live (like Nuke, for instance) would then post in the forum which series they watched and try to give a non-spoiled account of which games had them dripping in sweat desperately grabbing for a cigarette while wondering how they were gonna clean the mess in their underpants.

Props.

This is a good idea we probably should have implemented ages ago. Gimme a few days and I'll have an official one up.
